I was asked a while back whether I would be richer if I wasn't Christian. The main implication being that there are so many immoral ways to make money that Christian values prevent. And while I agree that there are ways to make money that are closed off to me, there are also ways to lose money that were closed off, too.

There are a lot of monetary pit traps in the world today. There's all kinds of addictions that can destroy your balance sheet, drugs, sugar, power, games, etc. Christians exercise self-denial muscles through God's grace. So in that sense, I think I've been saved from the many ways in which I could have lost my stack.

To hold is hard. And it requires a lot of self-denial. If you want to hold, Christianity is a sort of super-power.

Lao Tzu - Tao Te Ching - Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power.

I'm a fan of the Tao Te Ching. I've heard it described as natural law (which is divinely made law) described in secular terms.
