I was asked a while back whether I would be richer if I wasn't Christian. The main implication being that there are so many immoral ways to make money that Christian values prevent. And while I agree that there are ways to make money that are closed off to me, there are also ways to lose money that were closed off, too.

There are a lot of monetary pit traps in the world today. There's all kinds of addictions that can destroy your balance sheet, drugs, sugar, power, games, etc. Christians exercise self-denial muscles through God's grace. So in that sense, I think I've been saved from the many ways in which I could have lost my stack.

To hold is hard. And it requires a lot of self-denial. If you want to hold, Christianity is a sort of super-power.

Christianity is the definition of discipline

Amen and Amen!!!🔥✝️🙏😎

And Proverbs is our playbook 🙏🏼🔥🙌🏼

i like the part where the implication is that being richer in fiat terms makes you more fulfilled and healthier which if that were the case then why are western nations struggling with an epidemic of depression, anxiety, loneliness, alcoholism, eating disorders and suicide? very interesting, was bearing your cross/self denial the og hodl?

Christians have more opportunity to make money in the United States than non-Christians. I suspect the opposite is true in Saudi Arabia.

Can you elaborate on that, please? I think in USA an atheist has equal opportunities.

In my experience, the attitudes toward christians shifts heavily by which region of the country you are in and which denomination/sect you are considering.

The southeastern states are often referred to as the “bible belt” as shorthand for how entrenched the christian church is in every facet of public life. Outside of major cities, it can be difficult to navigate employment, social participation, political engagement, or even banking for people who are overtly non-conservative or non-christian.

Yes, it is not this bad in many cases, however it leads me to suspect that the sum of the small instances of prejudice add up to a structural disadvantage for atheist or agnostic individuals in many parts of the country.

I think it’s simpler. With religion you’ve got a stable foundation and can think about how your success will transcend. You play a longer and more stable game.

Also, if you become known for being immoral you will lose the opportunity to do business with many people. For example, I will never sign a contract with Microsoft because they are known for screwing their business partners.

But Microsoft is rich

This is the way

Greed often gets people into being scammed. Just not being greedy can, ironically, improve ones wealth.

But greedy people are often rich too!

One better rich with love instead of money, if I can choose.

Thank you for sharing this, very well said.

Even more, as Christians we're not only saved from possible ways to lose our stack, we're saved from everything. We're saved. 🙂

Mathematically speaking giving 10-12% of your earnings away is “terrible” for building wealth and compound interest. But as Christians, that is the Kingdom play we’re honored to be a part of and has even a lower time preference than #bitcoin.

If someone were to screen today’s current investment options, (using God’s Word) it’s difficult to invest in anything other than #bitcoin. “Ethics of Money Production” and “Honest Money” help spell this out. (Principles are important)

*IMHO the few exceptions to investing in BTC is regenerative agriculture
