So now I can upload images to Nostr directly in the Damus app. Where are those images hosted, and for how long? Also, where are my “tweets” stored actually? #NoobQs

Depends on your pick. I also host some pictures and gifs I use on my website. In the “early” days Nostrbuild was not available I would just upload it there:
