“Im going to be honest with you here”….
Really, you have to tell me your next words are going to honest?
Should I assume then if you don’t start with that statement there is a higher probability of the statement not being honest?

I'm guilty of doing this. It's the tl;dr of "I want to stay true to myself and not start lying because it might bother you or hurt your feelings". Imo it sets the expectations at a more constructive level rather than a negative one.
Our brains are wired differently. 🤷♀️
