just made my own fork of 4chan that works on nostr since 4chan always had issues with jannies, and it even got censored for me in australia for a while. perfect site for it.

problem is that i can’t stop people from making posts to the boards outside of my client, unless it was only posting to one relay
I don't think that's a problem. Relays need to be able to deal with spam, this is good for nostr.
Your client could either just read from relays that are really restrictive about spam, like mine, or filter client-side.

interesting feedback there, amongst the expected reaction (lol oh dear). what i failed to understand when i joined nostr as a noob plug & play user, is that it's almost as if you need to read a mission statement/manifesto from every client and relay.
i just think the onboarding experience is geared towards making ppl powerusers- user doesn’t really ever need to know about any of this
