The covenent of the Old Testament was fulfilled by Jesus Christ, and Israel is His church.

That nation today is a false idol that, Americans especially, were duped into worshipping via the Scofield Bible, which makes Christians serve two masters: Jews and then God (Christ).

This civil war era theology, called Dispensationalism, became nearly unanimous in the states, but it is finally beginning to lose it's grip as boomers fade from influence.

In it's place, the original (and highly based) form of Protestantism is returning: Covenant Theology, frequently called Calvinism.

Jerusalem and the Jewish temple were destroyed in 70AD, as was promised in God's Word. Christianity, Christ's church, succeeds and becomes Israel.

God does not maintain a kingdom in Heaven for Jews and another Kingdom in Heaven for Christians.

Not a single soul gets to the Father without going through the Son. Everyone in heaven is Christians.

Therefore, Christians should rejoice that this land is Christ's, and focus on building His kingdom.
