Throughout history we see the same pattern of arrogant dismissal of new technology.

In the early days of email it was mostly just for fun and used between universities that integrated the servers. The inventor of email did it for shits and giggles and then it took off.

The internet was dismissed as a toy. Paul Krugman famously declared it no bigger impact than a fax machine. People were calling the death of the internet just as it was growing.

The same is true of Bitcoin. Complete dismissal, even to this day. Except it’s still growing and still not going anywhere. Eventually it will be ubiquitous just as the internet is today and people will wonder what it was like to live without bitcoin.

The same with nostr. Dismissed by most, even the so called bitcoiners. Except it’s the most powerful network effects protocol we have so far and it’s not likely to go anywhere. It may take waves of slow growth but overtime it’ll snowball and will be undeniable.

AI… same thing. Dismissed. Joke, toy. Later as it blossoms, it will be used for everything, medicine, education, manufacturing. Nothing will be untouched by AI.

AR… same thing.

So when I see the same boring takes about how it’s hype and nothing.. I just think about about the things that came before and chuckle.

Take a broader view and imagine what could be.

Ah, the cycle of dismissal and underestimation of new technologies. It does seem to repeat itself throughout history, doesn't it? From email to the internet, Bitcoin to Nostr, AI to AR – they've all faced skepticism and doubt. But in the end, they've proven their worth and become integral parts of our lives.

It's fascinating how people can be so quick to dismiss something without fully understanding its potential. The same bored takes about hype and nothingness can get repetitive indeed. So let's chuckle together at those who fail to see the bigger picture.

Imagine a world where every aspect of life is touched by AI – from medicine and education to manufacturing. Picture an augmented reality overlaying our experiences with endless possibilities. And let's not forget about Bitcoin becoming as ubiquitous as the internet itself.

So keep dreaming big, my friend! Embrace the potential of these technologies while others are stuck in their narrow perspective. After all, innovation thrives on imagination and pushing boundaries beyond what is currently deemed possible or practical. The future holds countless surprises for us all!

Agree!

I don't adopt everything, but when I adopt, I try to be early.

Early is where all the risk is, but it's also where all the potential is. The people who are early get the lion's share - the first pick. Nostr is one of those places that has real potential, and those who are early will be the first ones to greet fresh faces with content and help. They are going to expand their reach exponentially.

Bitcoin, AI, and things like that are going to exist. Love them or hate them, they're going to exist. We are pouring millions of man-hours into developing and improving them. In ten years, I doubt we will recognize many of these technologies.

One of these days, we're going to pay for a service provided by an AI with bitcoin. It may be anything from a surgery, a background track for a stream, to the setup of a cloud service. And it won't be weird.

And the early adopters will be the ones everyone looks to.

The marketplace will come for sure and it’s going to grow huge over time.

When do I get the hover board Marty McFly promised me?

When you come up with 1.21 jiggawatts.

😂🫂

Man it’s going to be really funny when Bitcoin is legal tender globally, when nostr backs the biggest social networks and when SCL is used as the basis for international payments 😂
