A government can ban a lemmy instance which has to have an IP adress etc., but they won't be able to ban a user on Nostr, and most relays found different ways to fight spam bots.
Very interesting to find out about that, i only knew Nostr by name before

I agree hugely here. We really need edits on nostr. I do, at least - I mess up at typing all the time.
Amethyst supports edits for Amethyst users, but it won't always show up correctly across different clients.

It's just out of curiosity, since it certainly seems to be so.
I think that bot is just promoting nostr and lightning. Certain users here really love lightning so they want to make sure everyone adds a lightning address to profiles (I'm neutral)
Hmmm, ok, it only gave me the equivalent of a fraction of a cent, but i gave it a temporary mail and a unique password so there's no real loss on either side.
Many accounts are indeed promoting lighting adresses, which is why i didn't know if it was a known scam

Ok, i see it now.
I gave up Amethyst because it was bugged, but discovering that i can edit comments make me both give up on Primal, and love Nostr much more.
Like, 𝕏 or Bluesky don't allow it and it's stupid, that's one reason i'll prefer Mastodon.
Frankly Nostr seems awesome, i'm liking it more and more, and thank you for taking the time to inform me on the possibility of editing !
