hahaha

Monero users love Bisq, Hodl Hodl, and Robo Sats.

A few years ago I remember that the BTC/XMR trade was by far the most active on bisq. Is that still true?

I think so, I asked them recently and they said it is still *one of* the most active

80% on average is XMR

wait so OP was pissed that XMR dominates the DNMs so they tried to fudge the definition of DNM to include bisq but that's dominated by XMR too? I hope he's ok after all this

What are gray markets in this context?

#agorism

I think a grey market is a white market that is friendly toward black market participants, i.e. a marketplace where no one sells anything illegal, but people who sell illegal things in *other* markets are *there* and you can talk to them to acquire information about the black market

Selling loosies in New York (single cigarettes) in front of a convenient store cheaper than the cost of a whole pack if you were to buy from the convenient store and divide by 20, is a good example of agorism. The cigarettes themselves aren't illegal, but they were acquired out state without hefty taxes and fees, but the store owner in New York must incur those fees. The store owner is getting priced out by the agorist in this case. Is this a white market or black market?

this is stupid pedantry.

nobody means bisq or robosats when they refer to DNMs.

and YOU only get pedantic about it so you can claim there are DNMs that use LN

its not clever

just obnoxious.

I don't 100% agree with Super on the Lightning vs Monero discussion but he's right here. They are absolutely DNMs.

They just aren't.

Its a very different thing from a LE perspective and the pressures on DNMs are vastly greater than on those DEXs.

Which is exactly why DNMs use a solution that provides good privacy out of the box (#monero) and not LN.

They also sometime still accept on-chain BTC. Either because they're stupid or because they KNOW the risks involved and flip it into monero anyway.

Either way, from their perspective it better than using something with unknown (and perhaps unknowable) privacy assurances.

it's cool that we have DEXs with LN integration but lets be real,

Bisq hasn't even been accepting LN for 6 mos yet,

and honestly how much total daily liquidity are we talking about and does anyone really care yet?

not equivalent threat models, therefore not DNMs.

Dude you're still making this argument? 😂

Ok Lightning is kind of used in a two DEXs and one of those is dominated by Monero and the other also has Monero. Even if you're right not sure how that strengthens your point. Besides that Lightning is absent in all the rest of DNMs.

Bitcoiners can try their very hardest, but no matter how many privacy layers you add to Bitcoin, Monero did it first. Who's the shitcoin now XD
