I’m curious do we have any confirmation that says they didn’t almost exclusively target civilians?
Do we have any confirmation of an actual physical attack? And question is does that really matter at all?

I think it does. Because if we know Hamas explicitly targeted the civilian population:
1) seems foolish to play straight into the western idea that they are terrorists
2) then a grassroots organization in the US has potentially taken the side of a group that has committed an act of terror rather than attempt to liberate themselves. Because let’s be honest people like to conflate Hamas with the average Palestinian, because distinctions don’t matter to people for some reason.
Also to your first point: I’d like first hand evidence it isn’t a psyop, before I even begin to imagine it isn’t. Humans kills humans every day, the only surprising thing about this is the timing.
I don't think the actions of the Isreali government or of Hamas are necessarily representative of the will of the Israeli or Palestinian people. I support peace.
