#Bitaxe Supra hashing terribly after ICE cooler tower 'upgrade'. Not overheating, though… Could I have damaged the ASIC while installing it with those pink thermal pads?

I’d suggest to hard reboot unplug the power supply for a bit and install it again

Thanks, does a firmware update make sense in this case?

Could you have a power problem ?!

Could you have A power-problem ?

I'm using the same PSU with which it was working fine before I tried the cooler tower 'upgrade'.

Im not telling you what to do, but these cheap plastic psu are not a good option and sadly the often come with the hardware, this is a problem consumer electronics often have.

I did also mod my axes with other fans and psu. The 5amp psus are 12 € each

The new firmware runs them 5 degree cooler (ultra and supra) … that i can not make a diagnosis from here, is almost clear.

But it would be the first thing i would try.even computers get strange errors with…all electronics and bodies basically cant work with a “heart”

Huh .. thanks for the tip. Never tried that. Just switched the PSUs but between the 2 BitAxes but the Supra is still not starting to mine. Probably still makes sense to get a quality PSU or even sth with more power in case I get more Bitaxes and want to hook all up to the same PSU.

Could be a cheap solution, if it is that !

This cooling tower you got, what is that , water cooling ?

It’s in overheat mode. Did you apply thermal paste? Try setting voltage and frequency to defaults, save and restart

Does it stay in that mode even after unplugging? Because now the BitAxe doesn't even get warm in the first place as the ASIC doesn't really 'get going'. Yes, I switched back to thermal paste for the Supra & Ultra and the Ultra is hashing nicely. Also switched the Supra to version 2.1.1 but still doesn't really start hashing.

Yeah, overheat mode sets the hash frequency and voltage to the lowest levels to prevent any more overheating. That will persist until you change it back in AxeOS.
