The nostr protocol and most of its apps are designed to waste data as one of nostr's many methods of staying small (to keep internet discussions fragmented and echo chambered and crush the hope of people interested in free speech)

That's not true lol. Nostr has used less data for me than X did along with a couple of other applications.

Also convos aren't echochambered here like traditional centralized platforms. If you want true echo chambers, go to Bluesky, Mastodon. Those are true echo chambers that larp as decentralized social platforms.

Overtime Nostr relays and clients will improve over time to help run things more efficiently. It takes time to grow and nurture a new social protocol.

X definitely uses a lot less data than nostr. To create an edge case that shows otherwise, I'm sure the conditions have to involve X doing a lot more than nostr is being asked to do
