Never. I don’t even barely look at my file system 🤣 too scary
It’s a complete mess. Why is there not a native MAC application for uninstalling shit. This is out of hand over here..I need to reset this mess.
Never. Everything works just fine
But there’s all kinds of file folders just…growing cobwebs in there just sitting there taunting me, doing nothing!
When you uninstall an app, delete the app from applications. Then do a search for the name of the app and delete what’s left. If you’re unsure of the file, ask gpt/gemini
I cant even remember all the apps ive deleted from applications but which persist elsewhere. It’s just unusual that MAC doesn’t have a native index/application that can facilitate this process. Why is it the default that people just leave shit in there doing nothing?
Just look at what’s installed in apps and compare with the other files still present. Usually present in ~/library and delete.
You can also install an uninstalled app like appcleaner
So what you’re saying is drill my hard drive and buy a new computer?
What I’m saying is you can learn how to uninstall apps on mac, either by doing it manually or with an app. Other choice is to complain and have files lingering on your Mac 🤣🤣🤣
Is there a way I can relinquish all my privacy for convenience?
Yes. Just vote harder brother. That usually fixes everything
Not sure this will work for your older apps that you didn’t uninstall properly. You’ll have to go in manually for those
You’ve motivated me to just learn how to use my computer and I’ll just have to spend a day cleaning.
It shouldn’t take you more than an hour. Put your applications folder in list view and ~/library folder in list view. You’ll see the trash real quick
For the future apps you want to uninstall use app cleaner or pearcleaner if you don’t want to do it manually. Both have easy drag and drop functionality
More pr⭕️phecy 👀
Too bad for some reason I can’t see what this is a reply too even though it suggests Im involved.
Rand is pr⭕️phecizing
I had a hard time interpreting this one, is he saying Fiat Gainz?

I looked it up, pearcleaner has an “orphaned files” feature. It’ll scan the ~/library folder for you
i remember encountering this issue back when i used macos...used something called appzapper to find and delete extraneous files, was free and worked well iirc
Takes about 5 minutes to install the FOSS AppCleaner with this tutorial.
Then in terminal, type app-cleaner.sh and drag the application into terminal. Enter. Gone.
Try Mole
Interesting, how many portals into my personal life will this install so I can decided whether it’s worth it?
You're worried about installing a cleanup tool that's transparent about what it does (open-source), while you've already been running god-knows-what software (proprietary probably) that's scattered files everywhere without asking?
A girlfriend earlier in my life told me I’m full of contradictions.
