It's sad but not that bad, if El Salvador works hard to make using Bitcoin easy and attractive, and the population still want to use it, merchants will still use it. I can guess that the adoption was far from 100% anway.
That’s how it currently works anyway. That part of the law was never enforced. Clickbait headline as usual.
I agree, when I was there some places could take it but most just want cash and I don’t blame them. But having the mere ability to accept btc without having to dick around with capital gains is a huge benefit. Fuck the IMF anyway.
