Anyone hosting their own "cdn"? While I love services like nostr.build, I want to host my own images and videos so I'm trying to figure out what my setup should be like. Appreciate any recommendations!

I've been looking into self hosting my stuff as well, don't know what to use
I'm considering just using nginx and it's caching abilities and set up a FTP server or something to manage the files. It's simple enough and probably works fine for the most part but it's nice to have a website to upload images to, just like nostr.build has.
I took a rent for one year with netcup. For now they are cool.
I don’t know what are requirements for a « cdn » server. But very down to have docs/news about it 👍
My requirements are that I want to host and serve images and videos from a server I control, and I need to be able to upload from both a desktop computer and a mobile phone.
If you learn, share us your experience. I think it is good idea to have own host for images and videos. I like
I'll try to write up something if I get it to work 🤙
in the past I’ve used scripts to upload files to s3 and stuck CloudFront in front of it for geo local caching.
but that’s just using amazon’s infra. if you really want to host your own cdn youd need to geographically distribute servers you own.
if you just want control of files, a vps with a domain name in front will get you pretty far.

I have that already, now I just need to figure out if there are any awesome selfhosting software solutions I can deploy or if I just go for a nginx + FTP solution.
Tbh, I'm not sure I care too much about geo local caching. If someone on the other side of the world use 300 ms extra to load my beautiful robot face so be it 😂
Not really, these are selfhosting OSes, I just want to serve some static files from my own server
