So I look on different maps to see who accepts bitcoin in my area… 🥴 and I want to change that. My first observation across my country is that there are pockets of accepting businesses. But it’s thin.

I hear much discussion about people feeling isolated in talking about it and fewer conversations about adoption stories. I must be missing out on those conversations. Taking it to another level, I’m not 20 or 30 or even 40. I’m 60 and I have marketed a startup home services business before. I’m used to talking to people about important things, under difficult conditions (fire, EMS, water damage business). Surely my skills can be out to great use in this scenario. Bitcoin does better when people are adopting it and I don’t have time to waste. This strategy needs implementing, by me, right here where I live. Help me help you. Please. My contact is my name in front of @proton.me or here. This is a challenge that we all need to accept.

>>If you have experience onboarding businesses to accept bitcoin please do share the phases on that process or your suggestions. A little help please.<< maybe you could tag some more peeps for this?

I’ll keep repeating: the ‘secret’ to onboarding businesses to accept Bitcoin is more bitcoiners *spending* Bitcoin. If people aren’t willing to part with their sats and use them as a MOE for quality goods & services, there is no incentive for businesses to go through the extra work and expense to accept it.

Makes sense! I just see soooo many of these types of posts on 'how can we get more merchants to accept bitcoin..." but never see people talking about 'how can we actually get plebs to spend sats'. Once people start using bitcoin as a medium of exchange, the merchant adoption will come by default because they will finally be incentivized to do so.

Ok thanks, my little expenses don’t add up to much yet, but I’ll keep at it. To your point of getting people to spend sats, I would suggest we all go out of our way to only spend money with bitcoin friendly businesses. Is that happening yet? Not sure but I’ll keep working at it, to create my own niche market.

In the US it could it be we’re not as hungry for using Bitcoin because our financial pain hasn’t gone parabolic yet. To me that’s when Bitcoin goes to the 🌙

Dmd you.

it's low because it's not regulated. Companies registered would have to disclose incomes and thus most if not all serious business stays away from crypto until they formalise regulation.

I'm telling you, there's literally no way you're going to be bootlicking business or doing moonshine drops without the IRS getting involved. They'll shut you down before you start, or let you run before milking you dry in fines.

Until there's a regulated payment gateway that's doing this (even square is struggling) then it's gonna be hard to find unfortunately.

How ever if everyone pressures the point of sale this is something that will gain traction. The reason I push MB at POS is because it is our local indigenous currency and used to fund projects.

I have done this in my region for Made Beaver. It requires alot of work but is not hard to do. At every point of sale when they ask Cash, credit, debit? Say Bitcoin. This is awesome cause it always gets a conversation happening and they ussually bring in a manager to consider accepting Made Beaver.

Also you can train people to do this. If you have 10 people always saying bitcoin imagine all the networks that could open up.
