Have any of you read Red Rising? I’m on book 5 out of 7 and its amazing. Will check out Mistborn when im finished.
So nostr:npub1hu3hdctm5nkzd8gslnyedfr5ddz3z547jqcl5j88g4fame2jd08qh6h8nh and I are both devouring the Mistborn saga by Brandon Sanderson (thank you nostr:npub1a2cww4kn9wqte4ry70vyfwqyqvpswksna27rtxd8vty6c74era8sdcw83a for the rec)…
I started reading first and just started “The Hero of Ages” and she’s on “The Well of Ascension.”
But the problem is I don’t want to finish… know what I mean? Once you’re invested in a truly great piece of fiction, invested in the characters, you don’t want it to end.
But it must end. Anything that cannot go on forever must stop. All good things must come to an end. Etc etc
Anyway, I guess what I’m really saying is I wish there was a Mistborn video game…

I tried the Red Rising books but got frustrated with what I saw as obvious security flaws. Maybe it's just foreshadowing, but when I can see the problem a dozen chapters ahead, it is an obvious thing that anyone with experience should know to look out for, and the characters don't, it really gets my goat.
I’d agree with that. However I think thats the case when you get first person chapters for multiple characters, its easier to put the story together before them.
How far did you get? And are you saying Mistborn is better? Thats great news for me!
That's a good point.
I think I got mostly through the second book. I quit a little after they gave him his most recent ally's head in a box.
I definitely preferred mistborn, but they are quite a different series; they don't feel as dark, and you spend more...quality time?...with the characters. I really enjoyed it, I even teared up at the end (though admittedly I'm quite the softy).
