If I were the Japanese govt. I’d:
- set bitcoin tax rate to 0
- treat it as currency
- create the most lucrative path to permanent residency for entrepreneurs (with optional fast track to citizenship)
- give tax incentives to towns and municipalities who cater to digital nomads
- implement the most friendly bitcoin policy one could imagine with incentives to bring bitcoiners to Japan and to start businesses here (think low tax)
- promote bitcoin education (starting from early school and all the way into adulthood)
- I’d create a bitcoin treasury and a grant program - I’d give bitcoin denominated grants to the brightest of the brightest from anywhere in the world with a fast rack to residency with massive perks.
- I’d fire up all dormant nuclear plants to provide energy with 50% of power and the other 50 go to bitcoin mining.
- for every family that has at least 2 kids I’d open up a bitcoin multisig and periodically deposit bitcoin to their wallets (from treasury or with additional purchases). The more kids you have the larger the deposit.
I think that’d be a decent start.
