Increasingly frustrated by my experience with Lightning.
Each time I decide to try out a wallet, it goes well for a few months and then comes the "sorry to inform you that" announcement.
All sorts of reasons why. Can't blame samourai for example, but the others were mainly privacy compromises or panic pivots to comply with regs.
I have some sympathy but it's annoying, and despite being Bitcoin Class of 2017, I've yet to settle into normality with Lightning.
What was wrong with Alby?
Discontinued the custodial wallet. Creating that same "withdraw your sats before this date or lose them forever" problem.
Which makes it harder to distinguish ourselves from the banks we love to hate on. So far, revolut hasn't messed with my fiat spending wallet, but over the same lifetime of that account I've rotated through all the wallets in my meme.
Hard to get the kids or the normies started... miss that 'Nostr + WoS' energy we had going last year.
I get the non-custodial ideal and practice that for bitcoin in cold storage. I guess I was hoping one of these services would find a sustainable business model, to enable convenience.
