If the data is centrally stored, the data will eventually be public.
much secure, very encrypted, wow
Even the name of the app is weird. Back up app for emails should be called Pony Express following that logic.
This is why it’s pretty rad that SimpleX allows you to connect your own server
If you run a Bitcoin community from Telegram you are being grossly irresponsible
You have a duty of care to avoid blatant / official honeypots like this
Newbies to the space will not appreciate the danger
The moment that Pavel Durov was allowed to leave France after his arrest, it was clear that he had made a deal.
If there is a central point of failure, it will be attacked.
All centralised networks are vulnerable.
Hardly surprising, I mean telegram is not e2e encrypted by default and the companycan read all messages, most users don't know that they would have to use the "secret chat" to get e2e encryption, and still it uses a custom and rather exotic protocol that I don't doubt has some nasty surprises hidden in it. For privacy the Signal protocol is the gold standard currently, people should use that instead, or go straight to decentralized solutions like SimpleX.
🎯💯
Any app that tries to de-anonymize you by requiring something like a phone number CANNOT BE TRUSTED. (eyes Signal)
Case in point:
Glad I never used Telegram for anything more subversive than following a couple of independent news channels and conspiracy schizos.
