yeah, maker’s mark is an example, whisky not whiskey

I thinks that’s because some founders’ pick or tradition, at first there was scotch whisky and then there was Irish whiskey

Most of American distilleries were founded by Irish immigrants and inherited from their ancestors’ tradition, on the other hand, some chose to follow scotch standards

Japanese distilleries followed their Scottish teachers so they produce whisky
