Is it okay to go with 1 sat/vB at the moment? I don’t need to have the transaction instantly confirmed. It’s okay when it arrives within a week

i would do 2 sat/vB

Thanks πŸ™

But do i understand it right that if the fee is too low the only downside is that it could take very long but will arrive eventually? Or can it be rejected?

if you use 1 sat/vB it could take month!

the mempool hasnt cleared fully the past weeks.

and consider a RBF transaction.

Getting transaction purged is theoretical possible,

but mempool size would have to grow to 500mB or something.

Thanks, that’s usefull information.

I am curious. I might try it with a small amount. I like to experience such things to get a better feeling for it.

If it gets purged it goes back to sender, right?

If it get's purged the transaction didnt happen at all. Problem is that every node got its own mempool. So a miner could just store all transactions and never purge them. But your node could have purged it. Its tricky to explain.

So it could be stuck forever?

Maybe not forever.

The best practice is to do a RBF replace by fee transaction so you can increase the fee if you want to...

Ok thanks. Have to dig into that rbf

sparrow wallet can do the job for example

πŸ™

Mempool is now 9.76 MB / 7315 transactions.

Confirmation with 6 blocks costs 9.1 sat/vB, and confirmation in a day (144 blocks) is 1.6 sat/vB.

Try it with RBF

What is rbf?

Replace By Fee, best wallets include it.

Uh, never heard of it. I definitely look into that πŸ™πŸ’œ

2 sat/vB seems the minimum

πŸ™πŸ’œ

I would do 1 sat still

I tried a small amount with 1 sat now … i like to experience it πŸ˜…

Living on the edge 😎

I just had a 2s/vb on-chain transaction confirmed in a few hours this morning. I say go for it!

Nice, thanks πŸ™ i did now πŸ˜
