The laser eyes thing is related to Bitcoin I believe. It's supposed to indicate someone who supports Bitcoin or is "laser" focused on Bitcoin adoption/development.

As for long form notes, my understanding is that they are a way to format your notes, as a standard Nostr note does not support formatting (things like italics, bold, font sizes, etc.) They only work on clients that support NIP-23. If you view the note in a client that doesn't support it, the content is the same, it just won't have any formatting.

Bots: hard to say. I have seen bots welcoming people posting to introductions hashtag. Mainly with help. Having seen bots that just say "hello" but could be. Check the replies history of that profile.

Laser eyes: it was a meme from 2(?) years ago. Was supposed to be until bitcoin hits 100k. Now I feel is a sign for "bitcoin maximalists"

Long form notes: nip23. Is often combined with markdown for fancy formatting.

Videos: it doesn't cost money to upload videos to the usual nostr media servers... But hosting vídeos is an expensive business and it's complicated to serve videos efficiently. Your videos could be deleted any time by the hosting service (when they run out of space), you should create efficient (compact) videos for best viewing experience on nostr, it's hard to beat YouTube in terms of best viewing experience for your audience

It isn't part of Nostr culture, strictly speaking. It is part of Bitcoin culture, which I am not part of. Nostr has many Bitcoin fans, so they use that style, you can also find it on Twitter on Bitcoin-related account.

Whether it looks cool is of course subjective. I think it does not.

They are meant for articles, allowing for blogging rather than just "micro-blogging" (which is the original and predominant focus of Nostr). Only a few clients support it, while unmodifiable text-only "kind 1" notes are and are likely going to remain the core and widely supported.

Nostr text notes can contain links to anything (links are just text!), including of course images and videos.

Many videos linked on Nostr are hosted on YouTube, on other HTTP hosting services or through decentralized systems such as BitTorrent, IPFS, Blossom or something else.

They are just links, which many clients embed.

As far as cost for videos. No. I mean there are probably media servers that charge for storage, but you can host your own content. Any video on nostr is just a link to a video that's hosted somewhere. Whether that be yourself or a service is up to you.

4. Yes, long form are just longer notes but with their own nip. There are apps specifically for long form. They way uses aren't clogging up the fees with absurdly long notes. Think of it like writing a blog, instead of a note.

5. Kinda. If your video is pre-recorded and is under 50mbs, you can upload for free on most nostr/blossom servers. There are also cdn type services like catbox.moe where you can upload to about 200mbs. However, these services usually keep you filled for about 30days. You can spin up your blossom server, and change the keep-time to whatever you want, and share the link to that file on nostr. Then, there's plebs.app, which is like nostr YouTube. The 30days rules still apply, but your videos are spread across multiple blossom servers, and you're still able to add a personal blossom (if you have one).

If you're referring to live streaming you may have to pay. However, zap.stream has a free tier that you'd point OBS toward. And again, you can spin up your open solution faaairly easily (kinda).
