Hanging out with Bitcoiners IRL is important I think, but large conferences are a waste IMHO.
Go to your local meetup and pick one or two high signal 100-500 person conferences that have a specific purpose that you are into. This will be 1000% better than going to the big conference every year.
Maybe family to them is the people at Bitcoin conferences?
