I've just been reminded of the fact that the majority of adults don't really work. I keep forgetting.

Yes.

Yah, and then they complain the ones who do arenโ€™t doing it hard enough.

because they love what they do, right?

...

right..?

It's true. To grant some context as to why...

Boomers: "It's all about the money."

Millenials and Gen Z: "What even is money?"

I always wonder what in the world they do all day.

Maybe they have a little side-gig... but I also have a little side gig.

Maybe they do some volunteering... but I also do some volunteering.

Maybe they have a household and need to cook and stuff... but I also have a household and need to cook and stuff.

Maybe they hang out at church a lot... but I also hang out at church a lot.

Maybe they are politically active, but I am also politically active.

Maybe they are out for long walks... but I also go out for long walks.

Maybe they go to museums and art galleries, but I also go to museums and art galleries.

WHAT DO THEY DO ALL DAY?

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY DO.

One of the weirdest things about doing a lot of volunteering and politicking and etc. is the fact that you quickly realize that the other people doing the same thing tend to also have more other responsibilities than the norm.

Volunteers are more-likely to be in paid employment.

Volunteers are more-likely to be married.

Volunteers are more-likely to have household carework, for children or the disabled.

Volunteers are more-likely to run their own business.

Volunteers for one thing tend to be there, when you go to volunteer at another thing. If there are thousands of people in a community, you will see the same 200 people, everywhere there is work to be done.

The people who are doing a lot, tend to do even more.

Lol talking to yourself again?

I have a side-gig. I sell all my family's collectibles. Alot of driving and dealing with unbelievable levels of traffic.

I don't do any volunteering, atm.

I have a household and need to cook, clean, and care for my property.

Lol i don't go to church, but my mom did guilt trip me into going a few weeks ago.

LOL I'm not politically active.

I go on jogs.

Nope.

There's just alot of drama going on lately๐Ÿ˜….

You are right. Feels sometimes like wasted energy ๐Ÿฅฒ

And the irony: they think theyโ€™re outsmarting the managerial class when they are being drained like batteries of good will and potential.

That is for Germany maybe
