I have been interested in how to maintain my health or how to avoid being sick for a long time. I researched a lot and bought books etc.

I now came to realize many of the methods that I believed once weren't even good for my health or no effect whats so ever.

At this point, with the oceans of contradictory infos, I don't know which one is correct.

Especially, the infos from Japan are very confusing.

Meat, vegetables, fruits. Nothing processed. From my understanding your culture mastered fermentation eat that too.

Well, fermented food is actually controversial. Recently, I did stop eating natto for health. It is highly rated but Im not sure any more.

Natto bacteria is very strong and destroys other good bacteria was an argument against it.

I’ve heard that also. But how long have people been eating it? That must count for something.

I made natto in the US a couple of times . Home-made natto was very strong. I had to agree.

It was super stinky.

Of all the ferments it is the most challenging for my palate. I just think, historically without fermentation of some sort we all would not be here. It is why we survived. Now I don’t think are diet should only be fermented things, but now and again must be healthy. This one I trust tradition not the science.

I did a quick research. Natto seems to have been around at least 1000 years.

1000 years that’s more than just food. I think that is important.
