We've taken a different stance for the same reason. If Microsoft wants to spy on their users, then we just won't build for windows.
This workaround only works until Microsoft decides that it may be "useful" to put the screen functionality one layer down the chain, and screenshot the DRM content as well
The logic they use is group policy can disable it, forcibly if required. Businesses won't because it's a wet dream of theirs.
the normies will never change to linux
It will cost a lot but Mac os is still an okay option running local and tweaking settings .
. But these days most people use a home pc for pretty little. Linux mint would work fine for them
One of my friends tried linux and didn't like it. There is some learning curve even in the just works distros and people prefer what they're used to.
People just Windows?
I would just use Linux. I love how Signal makes privacy the default and gives you the ability to turn it off. Always make privacy the default!
lol just use whatsapp like everybody else, only use signal to contact your drug dealer
😂
Ok. I propose another solution to the massive MS-Windows spying:
LINUX
😎
Windows is building a privacy nightmare. Meredith was on point to call this out. I've abandoned that OS completely.
Amazing work! At this point glad you guys support but windows is just pure spyware. This feature for m series Mac next ?

How about we stop using Windows.
Using Signal on Windows is basically just security theatre

come over to linux. the water is warm
Signal flatpak doesn't support Wayland (and it's not verified on Flathub, so it's insecure on Linux anyway. This is just one of a lot of reasons.
Android is the way... Wait, even better: GrapheneOS is the way
I love signal but the most important communication should be in person with no phones / microphone enabled devices nearby
Who are retards running Windows and Signal!?

It’s Poop again #BillyMadison
Cool
This is really secure . Man can not take any screen shot of the conversations is really guarantee the privacy for both party who chat .
Encrypted messages is not really secure if party in chat can take screenshot of the conversation as a proof of thing . 😁
It doesnt prevent someone using a phone externally to record the desktop tho 😅😆 *hacks*
but it prevent microsoft to do it by default.
thank you for this, and the reminder that recall will really be a huge security and privacy concern for every users soon. (when it will be activated "accidentally" in futures updates packages).
And thank you for your work.
