I was able to build a run habit with interval training. It’s important to start very slow and build consistency. I would suggest starting with something like jog for 1 min then walk for 4 min, repeat 4 times for a 20 min workout. Do that for 3 days in your first week. Second week, add another round for a 25 min workout. Third week, add another for a 30 min run.

From there every week you make small adjustments like run for 2 min then walk for 3. There are a bunch of apps out there that can give you a training program to follow and give you guidance when to walk and when to run.

I think it only took me about a month of consistent training to start to really crave that next run.

This is the way! It’s how I started 12 years ago. Though I’ve had some breaks along the way, I’ve never really stopped. Ran two marathons. But mostly I just like to jog anymore.
