Bitcoinerjobs.co, btctalentco, open applications, etc are the biggest scam of all time. It’s same as fiat land; all who you know. I’ve applied to over 30 Bitcoin jobs, most of which would entail a 50% pay cut, and I don’t even get an email back. I get asked to tell my Bitcoin story; I’m applying for a job at your company where I’ll be losing half my salary. That’s my story. I do cash management and financial planning for a living, and zero response from any company. I have no idea how the hiring industry works in Bitcoin land, but I promise you it needs improvement.

A lot of them are just working for fiat 🤔😐
As far as I know, it's probably better to bootstrap something on Nostr
I don’t really care. I’ll work a few more years for fiat and hang it up. My point was that these companies are missing out on hiring very competent people and do a terrible job of handling the application process. The idea that these companies are trying to pull talent into Bitcoin is laughable. It’s just an inner circle hiring process.
Yeah there's still some cronyism in this space. What I was getting at is this: can bitcoin fix that while still mining fiat and working with fiat incentives?
At the end of the day, the people at these companies are deciding to choose people they know vs those they don’t. That’s their prerogative and probably makes sense to hire people knowing that they are of good character. Scare capital is, well, scarce. You want to allocate it well, and knowing the person you are hiring is a very good hedge against misallocation. I personally think they are doing themselves a disservice by passing people they don’t know over, and are concurrently creating this “Bitcoin jobs” concept that really only applies to insiders. I personally would love to hear feedback and responses to my application, but the employers don’t owe that to anyone. Just my personal complaints about the process.
I made it through a rigorous interview process and got the job with an epic company and didn't know a soul there, apart from those in the public eye, and they didn't know me. I did take a 20% cut but I was totally fine with that then and still am a year later.
I am glad you had a better experience than the rest of us out there. Congrats to you, and enjoy. I truly am happy for you.
Sales leader with going on 10 years of experience here and I couldn’t agree more with this… you don’t even get the standard fiat reply of, “thank you for your application, we have decided to move on with other candidates”.
I would kill to know why I’m not considered for something so I know what skills I need to develop.
It can be a bit discouraging to feel like you’re yelling into the void.
Sir 🫡🤣

😂🤣
One eternity later with a $30k annual salary job offer 😂😂
I’m just gonna go be a fucking grocery bagger at this point. What a waste.

we could start our own bitcoin bagging group. 😅
I'd happily take a pay cut if the rest is solid. 50% is rough but I bet there are many who think it's worth it.
Yes, I’m effectively willing to donate a portion of my time to them. I still can’t even get an email back about why they went another way, what they were really looking for, or anything. This is my gripe. Any line of communication would be great. If the answer is that my resume does not suit the industry and I should just stack sats with my fiat job, that’s fine too. I’d just like to hear something. Again, it’s all back to who you know. Let’s just call it what it is as opposed to LARPing about trying to bring in “amazing outside talent”.
I’ve had no luck with any bitcoin jobs.
I’ve gone through 3 interviews and didn’t make it any further than that.
At least you got interviews. I don’t even get emails 😂🤣
Lol yeah cant agree more. despite my qualifications and detailed bitcoin stories ive given them i've literally never gotten reply from any bitcoin company.
