YakiHonne has great potential. I like it. I look forward to seeing it develop beyond it's growing pains. #Amethyst with Amber is rock solid, and IMHO the best Android client on Nostr. 🫂💜
I agree with you, on android Amethyst so far is unbeatable, Yakihonne still needs to improve a lot but it is on the right track and I appreciate their effort to make everything very smooth to use, graphically Yakihonne is beautiful to look at.
Primal is making some very questionable choices, too centralized. It is definitely very fast, but the notes with images and videos are bad and their caching system breaks my painting links on Creatr.
💯 Based on my experience trying to use and like Primal over the past year, this is par for the course.
We appreciate your words. Amethyst is indeed a super client, we will try to catch up 😅. Improving YakiHonne and optimising it based on users feedback was and will be always our top priority.

I think Amethyst and YakiHonne serve somewhat different purposes. Aside from both being full-featured clients, YakiHonne provides superior long-form note functionality, and is setup almost like a digital magazine. It's UX is beautiful, and I think it appeals more to the iPhone aesthetic.
Amethyst, on the other hand, is a more straightforward feed client that provides a more fixed experience. I use Amethyst for most of my Nostring, but use YakiHonne for long-form notes and articles, and when I want to discover and browse the Nostr universe.
I believe there's room for both in the Nostr ecosystem, and don't view them as competitors, but compliments.
