You do want push notifications for unfollows?! I think maybe push for follow and then just some place in the app to find unfollows.
yup! I may have OCD of consuming as much info as possible including unfollow! A list with toggle buttons at notification setting might be a good way to balance.
Maybe with a widget that suppresses a push, if the follow is within N time period after the last follow from the same account? That could filter out most of the accidental follow>unfollow>follow stuff. Follow spam has apparently been an issue in the fediverse, and connect request spam in XMPP.
Primal got rid of this. Shame, it was the funniest feature.

What made it even funnier was that it showed unfollows (like nos seems to Al's be doing) that didn't even happen. It was like a stirring the pot fake drama generator lol.

I think primal when it had this feature also showed unfollows inaccurately, probably a relay thing, no? (I'm just saying nostr words without knowing anything lol)

We actually removed showing follower counts in nostr:npub1pu3vqm4vzqpxsnhuc684dp2qaq6z69sf65yte4p39spcucv5lzmqswtfch because it wasn’t the right way to evaluate people.
Makes sense. I can see how you can easily get discouraged if nobody ever follows you and that number keeps staring you in the face.
