Well put. Having a post-level relay setting seems very applicable.
Discussion
Maybe the current structure has its own value. The problem is it is fuzzy whether nostr is for global cimmunication and relays are only for censorship resistance, or for siloed communication.
If siloed, how will it differ from mastodon? I have never used it.
Optionality. Siloed might be like Mastodon, but private groups are a good thing to be able to choose.
People tended to use different apps for public and private group. I think nostr can address public and keet private.
What we dont have is semi-public, if that makes sense. A public-like experiences but only for some segment of people. Curious what can fill this role, mastodon, nostr, keet or another app optimized for this.
Keet didn’t seem to scale well. I joined a Keet chat group with ~200 people and it was not a good experience. Super slow.
Does Keet aim for large groups? Def agree it’s good for single digit worth of collaboration. I’ve had luck with those sized “rooms”.
So we dont yet have a winner for a large group chat or a semi-public social network. In the web2, we have various different apps like discord, slack, telegram, facebook group, subreddit, etc.
Do you know if there's a public support room for Keet? I'm trying it out to send files in a local network and it is really bad (text messages work fine)
Would check out their Discord
Thanks but I would rather use Keet itself
Fair point. Not sure where to go for them. Maybe they should open a support room or something. 🤷♂️
