Depends on who you are. For example, we knew that nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m was the real Jack because he once used NIP-05 to verify the official Cash App domain.
If you’re someone who is likely a target for spoofed accounts, having a NIP-05 helps prove ownership of a domain and verifies your pubkey has access to it.
There’s need for it, but it needs more clarity and one clear cut solution
Couldn't we do away with display names and just have usernames BE display names? They're both changeable at will, are they not?
