I came from X as their freedom of speech is illusory and literally there were 6 topics for which talking about I was deleted or silenced to 0. I don't know where to promote my account, I saw you on my main page, I hope it's okay to paste it here. If not, sorry.

You can do whatever you want. Welcome.

Thanks. Someone recommended me to move here from X, I try to start but honestly I don't even know how to start my account and who to follow. I'm a freedom maximalist oriented to fight global billionaire mafia that try to take away our freedom and establish Orwell-ish world. Maybe you could tag some worthy accounts to follow, please?

welcome to the revolution friend ✌

I hope this won't be another X. I used to make articles like rafalwywrocki.pl/komorki (literally my name in domain), then switched to X publishing and got completely fucked up on views, account disappearing and all, but when posting silly meme I was so popular. fuck this shit. It's nice to be here. seems promising

Make sure you’re on multiple relays and you’ll be good to go.

sorry I'm noob here, what's a relay in here? I was IT guy but 5 years ago switched to biology lover XD and now installing tails linux is my opus magnum haha so I'm still like a baby in here

The relays are what broadcast your posts and let you see what posts others broadcast. There is a relay portion of your profile where you can select ones to connect to.

I need to spend more time trying to understand it all. I will. Thanks. Do you guys have something like blue checkmark on X? I see you have an icon after your nickname. What does it mean, how to get it and who profits from it?

It’s a purple check to verify that your name is legitimate. You register with a service like nostrplebs.com so no one can steal your exact name. The people hosting make a small upfront fee. Not sure the long term economics of it. nostr:npub18ams6ewn5aj2n3wt2qawzglx9mr4nzksxhvrdc4gzrecw7n5tvjqctp424 would have a better answer to this.

It's not verification in the same manner. It's just a way to give your public key a human readable format. You can verify that a website domain points to a public key.
