My personality… has been driving people away. So idk really.

i lub u 💜

🫂🤙🤜

Haha

Same same

😆😂😂😢😭😭😭

wdym

i recommend you as a follow all the time to folks

atleast you say what you mean and don't fear standing for it

Ahh, well, I’m saying is we’re not for everyone. We don’t aim to please. That’s really it. We gain some and we lose some and that’s totally fine.

oh totally 💜

can't make everybody like you, nor should you 🤗

#zaps

disagree

Titties and zaps

free coffee

this

this i can agree with

that wasn't a question!!

Staying and leaving is also freedom

hmm

that's really well put 💜

as a protocol i think it'd be nicer if people were inclined to stay out of their own free will, but i'm as dumb as the next person

Engineer the apps to have an addictive loop that constantly pulls the user back in. That's what works for the big tech guys.

now the question is

do we want to go down that route?

I hope not.

You cant make anybody do anything but... engaging with their notes, boosting visibility, helping when they ask, avoiding setting unrealistic zap-spectations... I think those help. A welcoming environment goes beyond saying hi, here's $3.

beautiful point, i didn't phrase it as well as i could've

"what would incline them to stay" would've been better

i definitely agree with you here 💜

Can't fix stupid

Nature fixes stupid. A theory sometimes referred to as natural selection.

However that can take a few generations somerimes to work itself out.

So be patient and grab some popcorn. Like the healthy popcorn if there is such a thing anymore.

hold them hostage

Potentially promising 👀

introducing

nostrage

be held hostage

but on nostr

Nooob —> nostrage —> nostrich

Works every time 😏

99.99% effective.

We can call it the #NNN lifecycle

thanks, biebs

Shorten the path to a valuable experience.

What's valuable?

Objectively this is a sufficiently fast, smooth, and beautiful GUI without bugs.

Subjectively; people use a social app for the people, content, interaction and connection. This value is found by tailored discovery of aforementioned, which can be achieved by an open and permissionless marketplace where suggestion- and moderation algorithms race to become as good as possible at delivering value.

More generally:

Delivering a better, cheaper, quicker, or unique experience compared to existing alternatives. Where the benefit of switching to the new solution is obviously greater than the cost/effort of switching and inertia to the current solution.

yes

beautifully put

🥲

Rubicon model. If they have already made the decision to join nostr with all the hurdles, they will evaluate, weather it was worth it or not. So in conclusion lowering the barrier to enter or increasing the exceeded expectations

The weekend after the TikTok mini-wave we had, nearly every note I saw was not about Bitcoin. It was heaven.

Keep writing.

i am not sure i have that much to write 🤔

You're more of a topic host, I think, and your threads are active and fun, but the people who follow me, often do so for the quality of the OP writing.

That is such a beautiful way to put it, never thought of it that way 💜

I just try to enable other people and enhance nostr that way

Well, it works. It's useful. Keep it up. 😂

Think and write the thoughts. #Nostr has trained our brain to autocorrect any grammies enough to understand your point.

Honest communication, being real

If they don’t stay, that’s on them honestly.

Why *make* people stay?

The ones who see what’s in it and have compatible values will stay.

Some people don’t know how to live without being controlled (including «protected»).

oh, i'm sorry, didn't mean it like that 💜

i guess i meant what would incline them to stay for further instead 🤔

and that's definitely true, love the points you made

I see! Zero apologies needed. 🤗
