I want to eat carnivore. We went strict for six weeks, and I felt great, lost six pounds, I had less aches and pains, I felt stronger, my hirmones felt more balanced, zero bloat... wonderful right?

My palette was BORED AS HELL.

I love food. I love pairing a nightcap with dinner to make it more interesting. I love flavor and texture and the way different tastes come together to create an ✨experience✨.

If you truly love food, you know what I mean.

I'm torn! I want to do this. I like how I feel eating Carnivore. What has worked for you to find staying power? Besides straight determination. I have a health coach, but she doesn't much believe in carnivore.

I've taken a week off to give myself a break. I've tried to avoid seed oils, but veggies and fruit were definitely back on the table.

After a rough, painful night of sleep that I haven't had since before I switched to meat, Ive decided to jump back on. Help me come up with recipes, different textures, flavors, things you've found make it more interesting. I need more a lot creativity than a steak cooked in butter every night.

Any suggestions?

What are your stats? Like... Do you need the carbs? Do you need to loose the weight? Age, gender type shit.

Prolly won't give advice off it but it would add taste to your note. 📝

Do I need the carbs? I have no idea.

37 yo woman. I could stand to lose about ten pounds. I had to have a hysterectomy a few years ago and started this after listing to one of Bens podcasts about carnivore diet and hormonal balancing as I struggle with that.

I feel like if you make pies or add some homemade pasta to a carnivore diet it still works.

Flour, water, salt. No weird chemicals.

And fruits are great. Some veggies are debatable.

I don't think you need to be so strict. It opens a lot up.

hypotheses:

a significant reason for the intensity of the first carnivore died response is that for many, its the first extended time they have had without the chemical laden, nutrient empty, healthy biome killing food that comprises the majority of the modern diet.

i can eat bread now. but i only eat bread i make, from local, naturally grown wheat, that has had two days of natural sourdough starter growth. no bloat, no inflammation,

and lasting energy. from frickin bread. can you believe that?

old world food ways are the new food ways.

I've considered moving to a more Weston Price/nourishing traditions diet. I did that for sixish years during my birthing/breastfeeding stage of life.

I haven't tried it as of late though and I am certain carnivore makes me feel better. I'd like to give it more of a go to see if my hormones continue to balance, but I may move in this direction if I can't sustain it.

do what works!!! 🙂

I like carnivore too but rarely succeed at 100% carnivore. Honey and fruit are a good cheat, putting them off til evening seems fairly benign. Honestly, it’s hard to believe that non starchy vegetables and salad could be that bad. Keeping your blood sugar down for as long in the day is possible seems like the first most important priority. One of the things I haven’t gotten past with carnivore is I after a couple days I feel like I need fiber pretty bad.

No need to go 100% carnivore, just go 85% carnivore and continue to indulge in tasty foods every now and then to change things up

Yeah, and I think higher fat is important as well

I started making more soups and salads to add some variety. I also eat watermelon or blueberries every day.

All keto.

I get bored just eating meat, eggs, and butter.

I made a sausage and kale soup, a seafood soup, a taco soup...and now I am making black n blue salads (bleu cheese crumbles & sour cream as dressing) the last couple of days. I also made hot dog (ones without corn syrup in it) nachos.

I need to add my soups on here but I have a couple of recipes so far: https://zap.cooking/user/npub1n0pdxnwa4q7eg2slm5m2wjrln2hvwsxmyn48juedjr3c85va99yqc5pfp6/

And nostr:npub1cwhy4k8qd2guyqz8t45u4yzyp4k4fhnjn573ukh6e77mde2dgm9s2lujc5 has a ton of keto recipes on her site.

Totally get it. I was keto for 2 years and been mostly carnivore since 2018, and it's easy to get bored. There ere are ideas out there. Laura Spath on YouTube has a lot of ideas for how to add variety to carnivore. Sometimes I just say, "screw it, I'm keto," for a week, and then go back to just meat eggs, fish, butter, when I get sick of the bloat from veggies and dairy lol.

I have a few carnivore-ish recipes here that I've shared on nostr: https://ketobeejay.npub.pro/

Good luck, and we're here for you among the land of carbage 😁

Have you tried Steak Surprise?! But seriously I eat mostly steak with a side of sourdough toast and pan fried mushrooms cooked in butter with butter on everything (and mustard) and every night I’m loving it. I think I’m just left bell curve boring though. When other people make me eat I eat other stuff, can’t be too fussy

Same situation here but for me nothing tastes as good as carnivore makes me feel.

When I focus on the expansion of my energy and everything that I want to do with it, palette variety pales in comparison.
