Can you recommend a non appstore apk wallet for monero that the community has vetted?
Sadly I've found it difficult to transition from btc with apps and programs with easy ui to xmr.

They also have a Monero only wallet if you don't want other coins.

You can use Obtainium to get them and keep them up to date directly from the source
