What’s the most annoying thing about Snort?

Slow for me, nostrudel works fine and quickly. No idea if it cache or something else, but I can never make it work well 🐶🐾🫡

I experience this too, though not 100% of the time. No idea what it is.

I think nostrudel has 0 caching too or so I thought I heard… which is mind boggling

It’s amazing when it comes to performance, but I like Snort’s esthetics better 🐶🐾🫂

We need a ChatGPT to point to a directory and say “make it fast” 😂

If it was this simple 🐶🐾🤣🤣🤣

Yeah nostrudel feed style is the only reason I don’t use it daily. Pixels matter a lot to me

Pixels matter, period. Agree 🐶🐾🫡

🤔

snort it faster!

the popups on the left when you publish something telling you the status on the relays. It invades the whole height on the left.

Coracle does it right imo.

I agree. I’ve been complaining about those in coms for a week probably 😂

Help me make my case Pablo!! 😆

My strongest case is that it has rendered snort kinda unusable to me. It bites into the main feed's left side and I have to individually close each popup which has pushed me to use snort less and less lately 😅

THANK YOU! Absolutely agree. Closing things individually is pure madness.

The logo 😬

The name? There is no logo

Favicon then - this geezer:

😂

It’s not terrible on a desktop browser due to the size, but that thing looks into your soul if you have snort bookmarked on iOS Safari 😂

🤣 yeah.. we should have some consistency ...

I've two pieces of feedback:

- It's annoying when you go into replies in the feed, and then back, the position in the feed is not kept. This makes it annoying to read through the feed.

- Have you considered adding web of trust the way Coracle does it? I honestly find it hard to use any other web client these days as comments are otherwise full of airdrop spam.

One more thing - Please do not show every notification from a thread you where tagged in. This just lets people troll you with hell threads. My notifications on Snort are unusable.

Since you're asking without making distinction between Snorts issues and user-end issues, I'm wondering:

- Anyone having issues with uploading images from Firefox? Works on Chromium browsers, but on FF it reaches 100% and gets stuck, no link is generated.

When checking using dev tools, void.cat returns 502 upload errorss: CORS no Allowed Credentials & NS_RRROR_DOM_BAD_URI. Still need to do further debugging to understand whether the packets are getting mangled somehow with my network setup.

- Using an Arch Linux system I need to figure out why emojis don't show up - I've installed the recommended fontpacks. When I got for the colon and start typing a "Loading" briefly pops up as I type and disappears with no list shown.

Again, with Dev tools, js returns a list of all emojis from Snort's assets web directory, but they're not displayed.

I might open issues for these on Kieran's Git.. I'd place the :thinking emoji here if I could :D

Image upload is really buggy. Super frustrating.

So many things

Using the Pin feature. Having to constantly log in, and notifications.

what do you mean by all of these things? mind providing more details?

It’s always so slow. I just have to refresh all the time to get anything new to load.

yeah this is a problem, I experience it as well sometimes.

Used to be my go to client on the desktop (kind of still is) and be much faster.

I still try to primarily use it. Sometimes if I need to check something really quick I might just load primal.

Most days I experience some sort of slowness on Snort, but at that point I'm sort of used to it. I recognize it and just refresh or go to do something else, or check my phone instead (Damus). Sometimes everything crawls to a complete stop and I have to clear all cache to do anything.

If it's frustrating for me as a regular user, I can't imagine what someone new might think. I don't think they'll have the patience to tolerate it.

Yeah I also realized that it’s mostly unusable on Firefox and I think that’s also a Firefox issue.

I just used a separate browser while fiat mining for my personal email, zap stream (NoGood tunes), and snort.

It could be my number of relays and JavaScript VM process blocking etc.

Your process of waiting for snort sounds like what I used to do when I was waiting for my code to compile back in my software dev days. 😂

- Compile code

- Get coffee

- Browse news

- Check progress

lol

Cannot rely on it to work so cannot use it.

Any plans for support for third party signers like Amber or nsecbunker?

No, bunker works though

Should it work on Android? It doesn't seem to like pasting the token
