Apparently everyone who doesn't actually use NFP thinks it's insane.
Discussion
What I don't get is how being in-tune with the wife's cycle could be anything but sane.
I think many people are couples that practice NFP have a lot of kids, and think "oh it must have failed," and then the method just looks like pseudoscience.
But, have they considered that maybe some couples just want to have a lot of kids?
And maybe couples track the woman's cycle to know when it's optimal to try to conceive
9 times out of 10 I’m the one telling her “FYI you are about to her your period” 🤓
A majority of moderns are not in tune with many natural cycles and phenomenon. Everything is artificial or outsourced.
As someone with plenty of liberal atheistic friends, I know my position on birth control and NFP would break their brains. Life as a 21st century Catholic, hah
What is a NFP?
NFP stands for Natural Family Planning. It teaches couples to monitor the signs and symptoms of the woman's body, such as body temperature at the start of the day, to understand and track the different phases of her fertility cycle.
It can be used to avoid pregnancy, it can be used to increase the likelihood of conception, it can be used to help understand and address the root causes of infertility, it can be used to more accurately estimate a pregnant woman's due date, and it provides a barometer of a woman's overall health and hormonal balance.
It’s supposed to be hormonal cycle tracking but a lot of Catholics treat it like a birth control method (which is the same way planned parenthood discusses NFP) because they’re not actually open to life (having kids) at the moment and want to have sex anyway
