Some of you are like, “Nostr is sooo cool… Nostr is the future of the internet,” and so on. Step out of your bubble for a second. The internet is huge. Seems like you forgot. If you actually spend some time looking at what’s out there, you’ll realize just how much of a bubble this is here. Or social media in general. It all starts sounding like illusioned wannabe-influencer talk. And Nostr suddenly feels so small.

Also, how about finally making sure everything in this ecosystem is actually available more consistently and the usability is at least halfway decent? Other bubbles out there are way ahead in that regard.

When’s CRUD finally gonna be implemented? Maybe focus on the basics for once.

And what do you think, maybe in like 50 years we’ll finally be able to start talking about accessibility? You know, “the internet is for everyone” and all that? Or is it still gonna be the same old “hmm yeah ... decentralized ... tricky” excuses and a 🖕, to the 10% of people with disabilities?

Or hey, have fun staying your bubble. I don’t care. I just laugh at excuses these days. Ever-Betas.

Why do you think we aren't focusing on accessibility?

And that's just an automated test tool

Thanks for the rec! That'll come in handy

I also use Lighthouse

Lighthouse test results are usually pretty generous. Even pages with loads of accessibility issues still get good scores. WAVE and Silktide are a bit more on point, but they also misjudge stuff sometimes.

True, has its own agenda.

+1 for using Yakihonne

I use everything. Right now it's Jumble.

I'm also on Jumble. I jump around, a lot.

Jumble is great.

As someone developing a Nostr app, I found this critique to be helpful. I'd recommend other #nostrdevs give it consideration.

Couldn’t agree more. Seeing some people compare nostr to bitcoin in terms of inevitability is so frustrating when more than half the clients are nearly unusable.

No, it's not a bubble. Yes it's pretty cool.

Fr? Wow, didn't know that

Git gud

Respectfully, I don't like this way of thinking.

Nostr is not perfect by any stretch of the definition. But it's not nearly as bad as you are making it sound. It's easy to build apps on Nostr, so easy that an idiot like me can do it; crud applications can be built, availability is not anymore of a problem than anything else.
