I'm getting pushback. Rather than reply to individual comments, I will say that my point was only that they don't have free speech, and if they aren't free to express their actual opinion, asking them isn't necessarily going to get you their actual opinion. For example nostr:npub1pyzvmpujlpcy9whydlcay3gkm02wu0flehua3afdwqt22yqt33cqe6k0h8 gave a 50/30/20 breakdown where ZERO people expressed the illegal opinion.

I made the same point about Russia in a post right after the parent post.

I would respectfully disagree, sir. First, most of whom I talked to and asked are in the EU, have working visas and can speak freely, and they are even more likely to do so in private discussions. Second, being indifferent to what is happening is sort of illegal if you’re staying in Ukraine. Don’t forget, they have a full (not „partial“ as in Russia) mobilization, almost every man under 60 is supposed go and fight according to law. But believe me, many are hiding or paying bribes to avoid the draft. Plus somebody has to do normal jobs to keep the economy running. Third, I haven’t met a Ukrainian who would actively support what Putin is doing. I‘ve met some that hate Selensky, which is essentially the illegal option as you say. My single point is: The situation is so complex and unstable that anything they do or don’t do, say or don’t say can be interpreted as illegal by their government.
