Imo all drugs like caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, cocaine, sugar, lsd etc. should be legal. Advertising on the other side should be strictly prohibited.
Discussion
What do you mean by “the other side”?
All drugs are legally available, while any form of advertising for them is prohibited.
How would this prohibition be enforced?
Have you ever seen a commercial for heroin?
You didn’t answer my question. What should be the penalty for airing an ad that you don’t like? Who should carry out this censorship?
Sorry, I’m probably coming off as combative. Rather than do rhetorical questioning, I’ll just state my case.
Any time someone says “X should be illegal”, it raises implementation questions. “Who enforces the ban?” “What is the penalty for violation?”
In this case, you’re talking about banning advertising (speech). So I want to know: who do you propose to put in charge of enforcement? What are the penalties for violations?
It’s easy to say something that you don’t like “should be illegal”. It’s much harder to produce a comprehensive plan for enforcement.
