I think the war on marijuana was what made me so anti-govt from a young age. Knowing that a drug thatās never killed a single person is illegal made me question everything

Such truth. Knowing that countless people had been thrown in prison for owning a plant was enough reason to throw trust out the window. In my teens I couldnāt imagine a time when weād see entrepreneurs cashing in big on cannabis while there are still people doing time for it because of poverty or their skin color.
"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news."
"Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.ā

You a Flat Earther than?
I havenāt been convinced and even die hard flat earthers conduct extravagant experiments just to prove themselves wrong
Imo all drugs like caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, cocaine, sugar, lsd etc. should be legal. Advertising on the other side should be strictly prohibited.
What do you mean by āthe other sideā?
All drugs are legally available, while any form of advertising for them is prohibited.
How would this prohibition be enforced?
Have you ever seen a commercial for heroin?
You didnāt answer my question. What should be the penalty for airing an ad that you donāt like? Who should carry out this censorship?
Sorry, Iām probably coming off as combative. Rather than do rhetorical questioning, Iāll just state my case.
Any time someone says āX should be illegalā, it raises implementation questions. āWho enforces the ban?ā āWhat is the penalty for violation?ā
In this case, youāre talking about banning advertising (speech). So I want to know: who do you propose to put in charge of enforcement? What are the penalties for violations?
Itās easy to say something that you donāt like āshould be illegalā. Itās much harder to produce a comprehensive plan for enforcement.
