Open protocol and interoperability are the killer app features of Nostr. Also, V4V zaps in BTC on Nostr are superior to P2P payments in a centralized and surveiled walled garden platform.
Will these changes make X harder to compete with? Probably. But X is not the main thing Nostr is competing with or the only thing Nostr provides an alternative to.
Can you permissionlessly build apps on X?

It’s still a centralised system… and for Australians, regardless of features added, everyone of us will have to biometrically scan to access it (and discord, reddit etc etc)
I’m on nostr because I do not want to be forced into a digital id system, and I think many others will follow once it’s implemented.
