The end of 2025 marks two years since our family switched entirely to a Bitcoin standard. Two years ago we chose to stop earning fiat altogether, began earning Bitcoin only, spending Bitcoin whenever possible, and saving in Bitcoin.

Earning sats directly completely changes the game.

Instead of exchanging fiat for Bitcoin as a secondary savings tool, we do the opposite: Hold as many sats as we can, convert only the minimal amount necessary to pay our few remaining fiat bills each month, and most importantly — spend sats directly whenever possible.

It becomes a game of how many of our basic needs can be fulfilled using Bitcoin directly, and how little we ever have to interact with the legacy fiat systems— rather than how many sats can I stack and save, while still fully participating in the fiat systems which are built to hold you back.

Withdraw completely. Use Bitcoin. Exit the system completely, and take back your sovereignty. #optout #bitcoinonly2026

Love this. A definite goal. For me it’s hard to work out how to get paid directly in bitcoin when I’m in a country and contract in an industry which makes it basically impossible. NZ is asleep to Bitcoin.

Totally fair.

Eventually it comes down to making a tough choice. Where do you want your limited time and energy to be directed? Do you want to continue supporting the old systems, or begin to redirect your PoW into a new system?

For most, it will be a gradual transition. But small choices, made intentionally along the way, make all the difference. Find ways to slowly remove yourself from whatever it is that holds you back. Keep pushing 💪

I accept Bitcoin only for my online sales for a while now. Receiving instant, secure P2P transactions without intermediaries gives you control.

As for local payments, holding in the legacy system just enough to cover current needs.

It is tough, but I feel it's a path worth taking. Keep building!

Start small. Multiple income small streams make things easier at least in the beginning. Find something you are good at and passionate about and offer your PoW to Bitcoiners in exchange for sats.
