Earning sats directly completely changes the game.
Instead of exchanging fiat for Bitcoin as a secondary savings tool, we do the opposite: Hold as many sats as we can, convert only the minimal amount necessary to pay our few remaining fiat bills each month, and most importantly — spend sats directly whenever possible.
It becomes a game of how many of our basic needs can be fulfilled using Bitcoin directly, and how little we ever have to interact with the legacy fiat systems— rather than how many sats can I stack and save, while still fully participating in the fiat systems which are built to hold you back.
Withdraw completely. Use Bitcoin. Exit the system completely, and take back your sovereignty. #optout #bitcoinonly2026

Bitcoin was created as a decentralized, peer-to-peer electronic cash system that allows people to transfer value over the internet without intermediaries
Great to see kotlin multiplatform in action. It is relatively easy to add a jvm-desktop target if you have android target in place. iOS is a bigger challenge.
My friend suggested an idea about Bitcoin. In his view, Bitcoin is a playground for something bigger. Ask yourself this question: “How do you get people to test a new, software-based currency at a global level to find its weaknesses?”
In order to find vulnerabilities—the holes in the Swiss cheese 🧀- and how people can cheat the system. “Since it’s a program, it can be broken,” right?
Someone once said there is an algorithm that is impossible to break - but how do you test that at scale?
That’s interesting
I guess it relates to your office job as well
For a minute I thought I’m using Reddit, the MapPorn community - then I remembered I’m actually on Nostr!
Nice content 🤘
It’s scary that whatever I post on Nostr is uneditable, sometimes undelitable 😳
What if I make a typo - and the whole world will know?
DNS enters into the chat - he knows both TCP and UDP jokes, and tells them to everyone, some people get them - some people don’t
I’m surprised, I sent you a TCP joke - and I’m sure you got it. Don’t play around with your UDP jokes - you can’t be sure anyone gets them.
I’m quite new to Nostr, and quite old to Kotlin, thanks
А какой результат? (Не видно весь thread)
To the soil itself - usually not; Moldova is located on the chernozem belt of Europe:

Well, never done that, but in my home country Moldova - we have pretty good wine as well, in every village people do wine at home, and the grapes grow without fertilisers (natural / chemical). I hope you have a good harvest
Are there any statistics of how many people from Europe use Nostr ?

Zapstore is like Apple Store?
A market place for apps where you can pay with zaps if the app is not free?
That’s crazy, the ecosystem is evolving fast. Waiting for iOS apps to be supported, somehow, at least desktop.
The social benefit is good:
Plug an app to Nostr and that app has an instant audience pool; The kind that Threads has because of Instagram.
This is the thing what attracted me to be here, studying Nostr.
But I realised that nobody would use AskNostr over Reddit, if it’s slower, or if the search algorithm is not there; Yes it’s cool to build something, but you have to be in love with the problem rather than with its solution - many app developers fall into that trap
Ok but now Imagine that I’m on Reddit, and to find a question I’m interested in - I should go to Quora and search there a question published on Reddit
Can I search for questions on AskNostr ?

How about Google Maps to be replaced ? It’s kind of social network between people and places on the map, and is centralised as well. nostr:note18h0muftwfq33gsjq8tm59prvfkmajf8ymnyke32klxvuyu2fmt8s236pfy

📉
The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle, but I think modern social networks like Instagram and TikTok were primarily designed to capture and direct your attention — to make you focus on what those in control want you to see.
TikTok, in particular, represents the next generation of algorithm-driven content distribution, and it’s often used as a tool to promote certain political narratives. Governments spend massive amounts on TikTok advertising during elections — at least, that’s the case in my home country.
What I’m getting at is this: TikTok operates within powerful investment and influence networks. So where does Nostr fit into this picture? Do we even want a platform that captures user attention in the same way? And if we do, how should we approach it?
I think 3 months is enough only for MVP

I want to build the best social network based on maps.
Kind of a messenger where you can chat with any destination.
Imagine any address on the map can be a chat room.
You can find any message anyone wrote in a location public chat, powered by AI (embeddings and vector search)
I have no idea how to build it on Nostr yet.
