I am a husband, father, homeschooler, native plant nursery owner, rural route postal carrier, bitcoiner, and many other things.

Thank you for sharing this. I needed this reminder. A good way to start my Friday. Someday I am going to read The "Over-Soul," by Emerson. It's an essay. It's supposed to be good.

GM. It's 6:05 AM. Fire burns hot in front of me. It's back to the mail trail today and tomorrow. Then Sunday and Monday off. It's -1 out there. Next week they are talking 30's. Some warmth this time of year amidst single digits and snow is welcome. Atleast in my eyes. The roads melt off. The snow banks in front of mail boxes soften and retreat. And it helps me remember there is warmth, green, and lighter days in the future.

That's all for now. I hope you have a great day!

We love it. We've had it for a year now. We upgraded from our Trezor. If you are on Facebook friend Joel Bomgar. He occasionally puts out an offer to buy one for anyone interested. He bought one for my daughter-n-law and mom. He does a lot for Bitcoin to say the least.

One thing that draws me to Bitcoin is the longing for meaningful time. In other words, I want to live a meaningful life. And I hear this expressed again and again by other Bitcoiners. It's been that way since I started trading dollars for it. That was close to 4 years ago.

All we got is our time. It's precious. At 51 I feel the weight of it more and more. Lately, again, I find myself reading random passages out of "Time and The Soul," by Jacob Needleman.

This morning I ran across this passage. I offer it to Bitcoiners and beyond. Hopefully it will help us get one step closer to getting our time and meaning back.

"We have cut off the time of the heart from the time of the physical world. It is an artificial separation. When ancient peoples--cultures still informed by the old wisdom--spoke of time as a cycle, it was because the drama of the heart and the life of nature and matter we're not isolated from each other. Science gave us our mastery over nature by cutting away the time of the heart. We live in inorganic time. We can no more master inorganic time than we can walk through solid matter. Our flesh cannot penetrate this kind of time. Time as we know it is no more or less than solid matter extended and attenuated." (Pg.49)

To learn more about "the time of the heart" I invite you to check out "Time and The Soul."

Thank you for sharing that. Our family continues to use Bitcoin more and more. It's been a three and a half year journey for us. The simplicity of the Strike App and Bitkey has been a blessing. Technology can be tough to grasp sometimes. As anyone reading this I'm sure understands. :-)

Yesterday on the mail trail. Clouds and flurries at 11 AM. Skies clear at 4 PM to give way to an eventual cold, clear, star and moon lit sky. Didn't need the headlamp to see where I was running last night. ๐ŸŒ™

Happy New Year, Boglander.

GM from the front of fire 82. Happy New Year! A day off from the mail trail. Back at it tomorrow.

It's 5 degrees out there. The sun is just starting to rise. I looked out just before 7 thinking I would see a star filled sky like I did last night. Instead it was cloudy.

Everyone is still asleep. I am going to take advantage of this time to read from a good book. I used to do this faithfully before smartphones entered the picture. I miss it. My days were more peaceful. It was a good way to start the day, meditating with the mind of another as Kurt Vonnegut would say.

I'm sure I'll be back to post a quote that moved me. Some things never change.

I hope you have a great day if you don't hear from me again. :-)

Thank you for sharing that. I have "The Tao of Pooh" on my bookshelf. Bought it at a used bookstore in Rice Lake, a small town to the south of me. I enjoyed it. I break it out once and awhile . . . when I want to tap into Taoism. ๐Ÿ™

Yesterday. Dusk. Snow still falling.

Twenty two out there. The lower the temps the more thankful I am for this fire and dry firewood.

I took this picture at 5:50 AM. Been up since 4:30 AM. No alarm clock. It seems once fire burning season starts I'm awake at that time. It's either get up, start a fire, go to work, or be cold and hungry.

I looked out the window and saw stars this morning. Hoping to see more sun on the mail trail today. And I hope you have a great day.

A hummingbird visits an obedient plant. A friend of Bean Brook Nursery took this photo the other day. Like usual, she said we could use it.

A month from now, if all goes well, the hummingbird will be somewhere south and the obedient plant gone to seed.

We saw a hummingbird visiting a volunteer evening primrose by our front deck early this morning. I'm seeing some people report on social media the hummingbirds they've been seeing are gone.

We had a customer stop in just after we opened. All is well on the front. One a day keeps the worry away.

It's chilly out there. High fifties. Cloudy, gray, gusts of wind. A taste of fall.

A good time to pile firewood. And that's what I'm going to go do.

Until next time.

Scrolling through Facebook I see this commentary and photo from a customer:

"Rattlesnake Master! Bought from Bean Brook Nursery. Itโ€™s had a hard couple of years - so Iโ€™m thrilled it hung on and is now ready to bloom!*

This is our 3rd season growing and selling native plants and shrubs. This season has been a challenge.

There's a lot of places we can look for inspiration and encouragement.

Today we look to one of the plants we grew from seed.

Why not?

Plants are persistent. Without them we are nothing.

From the front meadow last evening. Black eyed susans blooming with lance leaf coreopsis. This is the most yellow we've had sprinkled through the meadow. The black eyed susans are popping up where we've thrown seed or past plants have dropped them.

We never really know. The plants do what they want to do. We learn the best we can from them.
