I would place this inside my home but not outside because criminals would think you have lots of Bitcoin.
I think once Bitcoin becomes the dominant currency we will see much more Bitcoin logos everywhere so then it will be safe to put it outside.
But you shouldn't life in fear. Just install a metal door and have a weapon to defend your home and you will be safe.
