The more aggressive the marketing the less likely I will pay any attention to your product / service and the more likely I’ll say something negative about distasteful approaches to reaching a community organically.

Unless it's your favorite product, or something you are really interested in. Then it becomes less likely you will even recognize the aggressive marketing. Hell, you might even unwittingly become a marketer for it.

Getting discovered on nostr is next-to-impossible. If you didn’t grow a fan base outside of nostr and take it with you to nostr, you’re starting from scratch to try and have people see your posts and possibly retweet them.
For businesses, we vary on aggression of marketing also because of there being no other way to get discovery without random viral posts. If we can’t be reply guys and send lots of zaps, what else are we supposed to do to market our products on here?
Not a rhetorical question, genuinely curious. Yes I already know that happy customers shilling our products is great, I love that too, but some of us in addition to that also want to try marketing on our own.

This is true. Yet, the business world is cut throat. In the startup world, it can be even more brutal. I am barely learning the ropes of the sales and marketing side of running an early stage venture. What is the best way to get testers and clients on nostr and elsewhere? (Without obviously trying to pay larger accounts to promote you)
