Every swipe of your card strengthens the path to CBDCs and weakens Bitcoin.

Don’t swipe against what you believe in.

Don’t be anti-Bitcoin.

I only use my card to withdraw cash. Stack sats.

Same here but the card-only surprises keep coming.

“That’s the plan! I hope that by then I can pay for everything with BTC, otherwise I’d have to move to a BTC-friendly country.”

Today any company is a licensed enforcement arm of the state. You build your business outside of government overreach or you end up enforcing their laws as well. This is a message to all the Bitcoiners that built the cage like Coinbase, Strike, and many more.

Entrepreneurship died long ago and few even realised it in our state propagandised and funded startup VC orgies wonderland.

I recently traveled to Sweden and it's crazy that almost no business accepts cash. it's either cards or you can't purchase anything. even drug dealers charge you with digital payment methods tied to your identity. wth.

Legal drug dealers? I'm so confused.

no, illegal drug dealers: coke, weed, etc. it's baffling to me.

Sometimes I think if the war on cash heats up, more people would pivot to Bitcoin but your post is scary! That would be clear evidence that we are doomed indeed. It's just the central banks sitting on their hands with their CBDC rollouts.

billions of people use cards or KYCd digital payment methods and the trend is going up. outside of privacy and cryptocurrency activists nobody seems to have a problem with it. so yeah, CBDCs/stablecoins on "traditional" payment rails will probably be a success.

Should I send you the bitcoin address now?

I don't own a credit card anymore. Do you walk the talk "Bitcoin maxi"?

I am much more a Bitcoin maxi than any of you pretenders despite being more a Monero guy.

Get rid of the convenience. It's the golden cage that makes you weak.

If you don't have a life with family and an urge to get things done, sure, you can do that. And I appreciate some do but it's not for everyone.

When discussing CBDCs, we should be open minded about CBDCs that are based on Chaumian e-cash. If we attack everything, then the authorities have no incentive to put any privacy in, and the general public don't get a chance to learn that there are privacy-preserving ways to design money transfer

But, of course, the number one priority is cashu!

"the number one priority is cashu" ... and not Fedimint?

Fedimint has a better design too.

It's more complex but in terms of real world use I only see Cashu so far.

Because Cashu is simple but less “secure” for custody.

Though recently the protocol complexity has been going very high.

Fair point. I should research fedimint a bit actually. The limited detailed knowledge that I do have is only about 'cashu', and I love it! But I should read about other things too

So the priority is Bitcoin backed Chaumian cash?
